Why consider being a Host Family...
Host families find that hosting a student provides an enriched vision of the things in life that we consider most important; our families, lifestyle and environment. Sometimes we have to look through someone else's eyes to appreciate what we already have.

Have you considered the benefits and rewards that hosting brings; visiting exotic far off places without leaving your hometown, through sharing of stories, feelings, photo's and mementoes of your visiting student's native country. Imagine the inspiration this brings to your children to explore new ideas, new cultures and languages. We have found that host children gain incredible patience, acceptance and insight in dealing with people on a daily basis as a result of hosting. These experiences and virtues are not easily taught from a book.

Everyday experiences like taking the kids to school, after school activities, sports or work events are new and exciting experiences for many foreign students and they are happy to be included in your family activities. As a host family you have the opportunity to play "tourist guide" and show off your favorite things and places to a very receptive audience.

Our programs will range in length from 2 weeks to several months. The remuneration to host families is $600.00 - $650.00 per month depending on the program. Daily and weekly rates will be prorated accordingly.

Host Family Requirements...

Willingness to accept differences of culture.
Open mind and caring heart.
Welcome your student as a family member and include him/her in family activities.
Comfortable, private bedroom with small desk and lamp.
Three nutritious meals a day, snacks and beverages.
Use of laundry facilities.
Access to telephone.
Some driving may be required.
English must be spoken at all times when in the company of a student.
